An immersive workshop creating your own afternoon tea to take home and one to enjoy at the end of the day before you depart.
Here is a guide to activities that will make up your workshop at Tawstock Court.
You will enjoy a full packed day with a couple of demonstrations and plenty of practical fun sessions and time to enjoy your treats in
the gorgeous setting of the Morning room at Tawstock Court with your fellow bakers before you depart.
ARRIVE AT TAWSTOCK COURT
You will be greeted by your host for the day Donna from Chef Duet Catering Co. You will receive a quick introduction to the
facilities, health & safety and a brief outline of your full packed foodie, fun filled day.
Donna will make a simple bread dough, leave to prove. This will be knocked-back and shaped together later in the morning.
PRACTICAL SESSION 1
Everyone will begin their 1 st practical session making some simple but tasty Merguez sausage meat filling. This will be allowed to
sit and absorb all those lovely spices in readiness for rolling into sausage rolls later.
PRACTICAL SESSION 2
In this session everyone will make a fool proof shortbread mix, this will be rolled and shaped into biscuits and chilled to be baked
PRACTICAL SESSION 3
Everyone will learn to make a cake batter mix for Victoria Sponge, this will be baked and completed. Also, in this session we will
bake the biscuits to complete.
Donna will make a rich fluffy American buttercream for everyone to use to fill their Victoria Sponges and biscuits when cooled.
PRACTICAL SESSION 4
While the cakes and biscuits continue to bake Donna will divide the dough mix for everyone to knock back and shape into rolls, etc.
then leave to prove for a further 30 mins. Break for tea or coffee and to enjoy the delicious shortbread biscuits.
PRACTICAL SESSION 5
By now the bread should have completed a 2nd prove and will be baked to complete. Everyone, will prepare their sausage rolls,
glaze and bake to complete. Everyone will prepare their plain scone mix, rest and bake to complete.
Donna will prep the egg mayonnaise and cucumber and demonstrate to the class how to make home-made mayonnaise.
PRACTICAL SESSION 6
Everyone will each makeup egg mayonnaise &amp; cucumber sandwiches. We will all fill the 3-tier cake stands, make pots of tea
or coffee and take the chance to sample your creations, leaving some to take home to impress family and friends.
FINAL BREAK & AFTERNOON TEA
After a busy and full packed day, everyone will sit together in the Morning Room, take in the fabulous views at Tawstock Court and
enjoy your treats.
